Section I

Piplock glanced into Alice’s room at the meditating elves. Alice’s arm was wrapped around Faerie’s shoulders and her nose buried in the younger elf’s hair. Piplock sighed and walked over to them. Placing a hand on Alice’s shoulder her eyes opened and moved to look up at her.

“Time to get up,” Piplock smiled weakly.

“Thanks,” Alice nodded.

“Do you really have to go so soon?” Piplock asked.

“They could die if I don’t.”

“Then shouldn’t I come? Incase they’re injured.” Alice lifted her free arm and rested it on Piplock’s shoulder.

“What about Markus and Angie? You’re just going to leave them here alone?” Alice asked and Piplock’s eyes fell. “I’m coming back, Piplock and I mean that.”

“I just don’t want to lose you.” Piplock whispered.

“I know,” Alice carefully removed her arm from around Faerie and stood up, hugging Piplock. “But I can take care of myself sweetheart.” Alice kissed the side of her head before pulling away to look at her. “Just take care of Markus and Angie alright?” Piplock nodded.

“Is Faerie going with you then?”

“Yes, tried to tell her no but she just wouldn’t stay.” Piplock nodded again.

“You took those three arrows for her didn’t you?”

“I…”

“You did, didn’t you? ‘Cause I know you’re not that stupid to put your back to something potentially dangerous unless you’re protecting someone.”

“I just couldn’t let her get hit; it was literally the second day she had even been outside of her town.”

“You don’t need to explain it to me. But you did good.” Piplock smiled and pecked her lips. “You better wake her up and go see Oshlot.” Alice nodded slightly and Piplock left.

She turned to Faerie and sat down beside her, gently shaking her shoulder she whispered. “Hey, it’s time to wake up.” Her blue eyes flecked with gold opened and stared at Alice.

“Hmm?” She blinked at her. “Time to go?”

“Yeah.” Alice muttered.

Faerie sighed. “We better go see Oshlot then.” Alice nodded slowly. “You ready?”

“Yeah.”
I'm posting these in sections mainly because the first chapter took up seven pages by itself. which was roughly 3,155 words.
