The Moon and Stars and the Black Void

 Twas the night and the stars overhead that drew me from my house and out into the dark, cold night. The sharp wind sliced at my exposed flesh as I strolled down through the damp grass, barefooted.

 My twilight eyes stayed fixed on the moon as the world itself melted from my thoughts. I felt as if I was walking on air and the cold itself vanished. And I was left alone with the stars and the moon and the black void unaware of any threats that loomed as I continued walking.

 The moon vanished from my eyes along with the stars and were replaced by red. Alarm arose as I became aware of everything. The sound of voices reached my ears along with a loud ringing.

 I looked around and tried to move but my body seemed to be paralyzed. My body felt numb as my eyes closed to be met with the void of darkness. Eventually, everything faded into the nothingness.

 As I stared the moon and stars appeared around me once more.
