DaNaSa Section IV: Parents| Chapter V

 “You are not pulling my leg are you?” The voice on the other side of the phone asked.

  “I’m not that cruel Snow.” Dani replied.

 “So Sathra heard her and you do not think Nathei heard Sathra?” Snowflake asked.

 “Well isn’t that what I just said?” Dani sighed.

 “Yeah I just… wow. Wonder what is going to happen.” Snow whispered. “I mean I wonder if Sathra’s going to ask Nathei or keep quiet.”

 “Who knows, it’s those two after all.” Dani muttered. “They’re actions can be hard to pin down especially when it comes to one another.”

 “Yeah, you would know that better than anyone, Dani. I will tell Minx and spare you that conversation.” Snowflake laughed.

 “Thanks, Sis, I’ll let the boys know.”

 “No problem, I will swing by later and say hi before I leave to go see Minx up in Appleseed.”

 “ ‘Kay see you later.”

 “Bye,” Dani hit the off button on her phone before heading into the kitchen to make breakfast.

 It was not long before the sound of footsteps reached her ears after she had finished cooking. Dani glanced up to see Nathei, half awake, walk into the kitchen. “You cooked?” Nathei asked glancing at the plates Dani had pulled out.

 “Yeah that’s why it smells like pancakes in here.” Dani smirked.

 “Thanks,” Nathei muttered as Dani held out a plate to her.

 “Where’s Sath?” Dani asked.

 “I… I do not know she was not there when I woke up.” Nathei sighed.

 “She wasn’t?” Dani said putting her fork back down on her plate.

 “No, she is probably in the shower or…” Nathei paused.

 “Nat?”

 “There is no running water….” Nathei discarded her plate on to the counter and hurried out of the kitchen and down the hall. Dani blinked at her before following her down the hall to where she stood in front of the bathroom door for a second before opening it. “Sath?” Nathei whispered.

 Sathra glanced over at them weakly and Nathei slowly walked over to her. Dani sighed and left as Nathei wrapped her arms around the sick Sathra. “You’re burning,” Nathei muttered into the side of Sathra’s head.

 “Really? I feel more cold than warm,” Sathra coughed. Dani quickly hurried in with a dark blue blanket in her hands and walked over to where the two sat.

 “Here,” she muttered, loosely wrapping it around Sathra’s shoulders. Nathei pulled away from Sathra so she could completely wrap her in the blanket before rewrapping her arms around her and mouthing Dani a thank you. Dani gave her a small smile and nodded at the door. “Come on let’s go to your room so we do not have to carry you there when you fall asleep.” Nathei muttered and after a moment, Sathra nodded.

 Slowly the two of them stood and walked down the hall to Sathra’s room, barely making it to her bed before she passed out. Nathei pulled the blankets up around her before walking over to Dani who stood in the doorway. “You going to stay here and keep an eye on her?” Dani asked and Nathei nodded.

 “Yeah, don’t want her to hurt herself like last time.” Nathei muttered.

 “ ‘Kay, do you want me to bring you anything?” Dani asked.

 “My laptop would be nice,” Dani nodded and started to leave when Nathei gently grabbed her arm. “Thanks for everything, sis.” Dani’s eyes widened slightly as she stared down at Nathei.
 “No problem, Nathei.” Dani muttered, with a smile. Dani quickly headed down the hallway as Nathei went back over to sit against the bed Sathra was passed out on.
